About Technical Diagrams
Technical Diagrams is a visual reference for AI agents and the people directing them. Agents can generate familiar diagram forms well, but choosing a useful form and checking the result still takes judgment. This project puts concrete examples beside their editable source so you can see a reference before asking an agent to adapt it.
The collection includes architecture, flows, data structures, infrastructure, developer surfaces, and other technical illustrations. Terminals and IDEs are illustrations; they do not run the code they display. Each reference includes advice about when it fits, when it does not, its base primitives, and separate visual and modification scores. Initial scores are editorial judgments, with the scoring method and revision process documented publicly. They are not guarantees about any model’s performance.
Tom Granot maintains the project. Codex generated the initial implementation and diagram baselines. The repository records contributors, design references, licenses, and changes. Code and original diagrams use the MIT license; bundled fonts retain their own SIL Open Font License. You can inspect and adapt the source without an account.
The first phase collects familiar forms. A later phase may explore original diagram ideas, but those experiments will need separate review and clear provenance. Current coverage, limitations, and the contribution process are available in the documentation.
